Bimi Pinu Yuxibu (Maria de Fátima Sales Sereno Kaxinawá, Aldeia Ni Yuxibu, Acre, Amazonia, Brazil) is our dedicated Research Assistant.

The project is grounded in the Indigenous-Centred Research approach, which is community-led and emphasizes the co-development of methods and techniques rooted in the traditions of Indigenous communities. This approach ensures that the research is conducted in a manner that respects and incorporates Indigenous knowledge systems and cultural practices.

The project comprises four interlinked Work Packages (WPs), each designed to address specific aspects of the research objectives. Our research is carried out in collaboration with six Indigenous communities in the state of Acre, within the Brazilian Amazon rainforest. By integrating Indigenous knowledge with contemporary research practices, the project aims to develop innovative solutions that address the social, environmental, and economic challenges faced by these communities.
